The Christadelphians Netherlands

Are not only located in the Netherlands but are a worldwide community. We are an original 1st century Bible based faith that is preparing for: the return of Jesus Christ, the resurrection of the dead & the Kingdom of God on earth.

Who are the Christadelphians?

We are a close knit community of people (not a sect) who desire nothing more than for you to join us in sharing the wonderful promises of God founded on the scriptures of truth. Prepare yourselves with us for the return of Jesus Christ & his righteous kingdom on earth in Jerusalem.

The name Christadelphian

The word means “Brethren of Christ” and is based upon the words in Hebrews chapter 2:11 “he (Jesus Christ) is not ashamed to call them brethren” Anyone who follows him in practice & belief are called his brethren. A brother or sister of Christ. We have no paid ministers, ministers, bishops to carry out the speaking responsibilities.

The founder of the Christadelphian movement

The Christadelphian movement was founded nearly over 180yrs ago the name was chosen in 1864 during the civil war in America but before all this: The desire to rediscover the truth of the gospel, that was once believed in the first century, is to be thanked by a doctor of medicine John Thomas. John Thomas was born in London 1805, studied as a doctor/surgeon and made a decision to immigrate to America. Upon his immigration he had a near fate of death experiance on the boat he was traveling. Being a son of a minister of religion but not convicted or interested in religion this near loss of his own life made him think again and he made a life changing decree, that if he ever he got to the shores of America alive he would never rest until he found out the truth of religion. Thankfully John Thomas did make it alive and he did keep his vows. From then on he gave himself to the study of the word of God until he found out what he considered to be the truth of religion. In 1848 he wrote a book called Elpis (Hope) of Israel which set out clearly what he thought was the fundermental truths of the scriptures and from there rose a small group in the east of America.

Christadelphians place of worship

In the Christadelphian Ecclesia (not church) has the responsibility of using their talents whether its speaking reading organising. The word Ecclesia is chosen by Christadelphians, its different from the word Church. Ecclesia means in the Greek called out by invitation John 15:14. God is calling people out of the world who think further than just this life, who start to question: the meaning of life, what is the truth of the matter & start to see things differently in the life they live.
